Perklin explicó en una reciente entrevista para Binary District, una comunidad de cooperación internacional sobre nuevas tecnologías, que debido a la implementación de los sistemas como Know Your Customer (KYC) y Anti-Lavado de Dinero (AML) en prácticamente todas las plataformas de intercambio, transforman al Bitcoin en una moneda muy simple de rastrear, lo que ofrece poquísima protección de privacidad a los usuarios.
“Bitcoin es una de las monedas más rastreables del planeta y contrariamente a los informes falsos de los medios en los últimos años, bitcoin no es anónimo y ofrece muy poca protección de privacidad a sus usuarios. Si un usuario valora la privacidad por encima de todo, las reuniones cara a cara en las que se intercambien valores, productos, y servicios de manera privada, garantizarán que ningunas huellas digitales queden atrás.”
Es esencial rememorar, que en la red están los exploradores de la blockchain, donde se pueden observar todas y cada una de las transacciones que se están efectuando en tiempo real. Pese a que no se muestran los datos de los usuarios quienes están participando en la operación, en las primordiales casa de intercambio si están guardados los datos de las personas, lo que hacen que Bitcoin no sea completamente anónimo.
