Duro golpe para la moneda Petro, la criptomoneda oficial de Venezuela, El presidente de los Estado Unidos, Donald Trump, firmó este lunes 19 de marzo de 2018 , una orden ejecutiva donde prohíbe “todas las transacciones” con “cualquier moneda digital” emitida por el gobierno venezolano, haciendo referencia al Petro, la criptomoneda impulsada por el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro.
En el documento, el presidente del país Norte Americano arguye haber tomado la resolución “a la luz de las recientes medidas adoptadas por el régimen de Maduro para procurar evitar las sanciones” con la emisión de una criptomoneda, en un proceso que “la Reunión Nacional escogida de manera democrática por Venezuela ha denunciado como ilegal”.
El decreto prohíbe a cualquier persona en el territorio Norteamericano efectuar transacciones con cualquier criptomoneda que haya sido emitida en nombre del Gobierno de Venezuela.
El Petro fue anunciado por vez primera a fines del año 2017 por el presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, con el propósito de eludir las sanciones económicas por la parte de los E.U., el que ha provocado una de las peores crisis económica del país. Además de esto, conforme las declaraciones del gobierno venezolano, El Petro estaría apoyado por los recursos naturales del paí, como es el petróleo .
El pasado 9 marzo el presidente de Venezuela afirmó que el Petro captó ofertas durante más de 5 mil millones de dólares a lo largo de la preventa. Aseverando que, de esta manera, se conseguirá el dinero en efectivo “para adquirir todo cuanto precisa el país. Es una parte de las soluciones económicas”.
Además de esto, el líder venezolano en su instante aseguró que esperaba que inversores provenientes de Oriente Medio, Rusia, Europa y América asistieran al proceso de adquisición de la moneda Petro . No obstante, la polémica rodeó a la criptomoneda desde el primer instante, por la carencia de aprobación del Parlamento venezolano y por las dudas en torno al derecho de propiedad de la divisa virtual.
