El gran aumento de nuevas criptomonedas que búscan financiación para su desarrollo ICO (oferta incial de monda) ha provocado que el Gobierno de Gibraltar junto a la Comisión de Servicións Financieros de Gibralatar (GFSC) han anunciado que en las próximas semanas se va a iniciar el desarrollo de un nuevo proyecto de ley para la regularización de las ICO en el territorio de Gibraltar.
Este proyecto de ley, tiene como objetivo regular la promoción, venta y posterior distribución de token digitales en el territorio de Gibraltar, serán las primeras normas que se elaboren específicamente para las ICO.
Uno de los aspectos principales de las regulaciones para las ICO de Gibraltar será la introducción del concepto de “patrocinadores autorizados,” los cuales se supone que sean “responsables de asegurar la divulgación y el cumplimiento de las normas que van en contra de los delitos financieros ” dijo Sian Jones, uno de los altos asesores de GFSC.
El proyecto de ley también establecerá la divulgación de las reglas que exigirán que los proyectos de las ICO proporcionen “información suficiente, correcta y equilibrada a cualquiera que compre tokens”, dijeron a Reuters el gobierno y la Comisión de Servicios Financieros.
Según Reuters, más de 3.700.00.000$ se obtuvieron en recaudaciones de fondos en ICO a nivel mundial en 2017, en comparación con los 100.000.000$ en 2016. Esta rápida expansión del mercado de las ICO es lo que supuestamente ha provocado que las autoridades de Gibraltar tomen cartas en el asunto , pues la siguen viendo como unas campañas altamente especulativa y con mucho riesgo para los inversionistas.
