Siguen llegando malas noticias para el mundo de las criptomonedas, si ya con la caida del precio del gigante Bitcoin, ahora llega la prohibición de los gigantes financieros JP Morgan Chase, Bank of AMerica y Citi Group a sus clientes para utilizar sus tarjetas de crédito para la compra de criptomonedas.
El pasado 25 de enero de 2018 J.P. Morgan Chase había confirmado a la CNBC que sus clientes seguirían comprando criptomonedas con sus tarjetas de crédito , al tiempo que Bank of America y Citigroup habían anunciado que estaban examinando sus políticas sobre las compras de criptoactivos con tarjetas de crédito.
No obstante, el gigante financiero J.P. Morgan Chase tuvo un cambio de opinión, como afirmó un portavoz del banco a la CNBC:
“En este momento, no estamos procesando compras de criptomonedas con tarjetas de crédito, debido a la volatilidad y el riesgo involucrados. Revisaremos el problema a medida que el mercado evolucione”.
Conforme la publicacion de bloomberg Bank of America, y Citi Group han empezado esta medida el 2 de febrero de 2018 al tiempo que JP Morgan Chase empezó la prohibición el día 3 de febrero.
Pese a lo anunciado por los portavoces de Bank of America han hecho la aclaración de que esta medida solo afectase a la adquisición con tarjetas de crédito mas no afectará a las compras de criptomonedas hechas con tarjetas de débito o bien utilizando cajeros. La medida fue tomada por motivos de regulaciones contra el lavado de dinero, y asimismo por el inconveniente que representan los ladrones y falsificadores de tarjetas de crédito, quienes utilizan estos medios fraudulentos para adquirir esta clase de activos.
Asimismo es esencial resaltar que para las compañías de créditos dejar que sus clientes del servicio puedan comercializar con criptomonedas es una actividad con altos peligros en concepto de probabilidad de impago, puesto que los inversores acostumbran a endeudarse para adquirir criptomonedas, las que tienen un costo enormemente volátil, y si el coste de estas cae velozmente muchos deudores podrían verse inútiles de encarar los pagos de sus tarjetas de crédito.
