El Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la infancia o bien UNICEF es un programa de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas con base en la ciudad de Nueva York y que provee ayuda humanitaria y de desarrollo a pequeños y madres en países en vía de desarrollo. Es uno de los miembros y la comisión ejecutiva de la United Nations Development Group.

La moneda a minar es Ethereum y este proyecto pretende captar a todas y cada uno de los amantes de las criptomonedas y amantes de los videojuegos (lo PC Gamer, estan altamente cualificados para minar). Concretamente viene desde la sede de UNICEF en Francia.
A todo el mundo que minan criptomonedas, se les recompensa con un porcentaje de la critomoneda por lo recursos prestados y es justamente ese porcentaje lo que UNICEF desea emplear para recoger dinero.
La meta de la organización con este proyecto consiste en administrar asistencia de urgencia a los pequeños sirios, que conforme los informes, encaran “la peor crisis humanitaria del mundo”. Las 4 prioridades primordiales de UNICEF van a ser suministrar a estos pequeños y otros sirios necesitados agua, higiene, educación, “protección infantil” y atención médica.
Para participar en Game Chaingers debes ir a la web oficial del proyecto de Game Chaingers , administrar ciertos detalles sobre el sistema, y también instalar un software en la ordenador el que se encargase de minar mientras que estas utilizando tu ordenador ya sea para jugar a tu juego favorito, ver pelis ….. . Conforme lo anunciado por UNICEF, el software solo utilizara una pequeña una parte de los recursos del PC, con lo que no afectaría al rendimiento del ordenador.
La propuesta se dirige a los gamers debido a que generalmente estos usuarios tienen equipos con tarjetas de vídeo de alto desempeño, ideal para la minería de criptomonedas, y mientras más usuarios se unan al proyecto mayor va a ser la cantidad de fondos que se puede recolectar.
Esta es la primera vez que una organización pública internacional de la talla de la Organización de la Naciones Unidas trata de emplear criptomonedas con fines beneficiosos y probablemente vengan muchos más proyectos como este pues esta teniendo una gran acogida.
